May 2008 -- At the April 02, 2008 Open House at Sons of Utah Pioneers headquarters, consultants from H.W. Lochner gathered comments about the conceptual alignment of the trail from Parley's to the parking lot at Tanner Park. Participants also commented on issues regarding how the trail will interact with current uses of the Park; fencing and connections in to the park; and possible impacts on the surrounding neighborhood. To view the alignment presented at the open house, click here.(Please be patient; it is a large file and takes a minute to download.) Based upon feedback from the community, the consultants are making some adjustments to the Trail design. If you have questions please contact Laynee Jones at ljones@hwlochner.com.
Advisory to Trail Users...
Parley's Trail Crossing at I-215
As of Friday September 21st, 2007, the bicycle and pedestrian bridge over I-215 is complete. Bikers please be advised that the pavement currently ends just west of the I-215 bridge in the Parleys Historic Nature Park. The next section of trail (to about 2700 East at Tanner Park) is currently being designed and construction should be complete by Fall 2008. The trail will connect to bike lanes on 2700 South and 1700 East. If you choose to ride or walk through the park on the existing gravel road (not suitable for road bikes), please be courteous to park users and off-leash dogs.
